This class meets once a week and has a rigorous reading and discussion schedule. Four of those meetings will convene at the Downtown Oakland Senior Center for a community discussion. Thus, regular attendance and punctuality are of utmost importance to your academic success, the success of your classmates, and the intellectual engagement of the Oakland community.
Missing more than two classes may result in a lower grade; being on time for class is not only polite best practice, but critical to the success of the course, which will work well if we are all present and engaged when class begins.
